Using the Task Assignments Tab

If you have assigned tasks to other staff members, or if tasks have been assigned to you, the Task assignments tab is visible in Document Central. When you select this tab, you can see a list of tasks that are currently assigned to you. You can also see the tasks that you have assigned to other people.

You can narrow the list of tasks displayed in a grid by clicking in a column header, and then selecting an appropriate filter. The Closedbuttons above each grid also can help you manage the tasks that display.

You can use the buttons in the grid toolbar to manage the appearance of the grid. The buttons and their functions are as follows:

You can perform the following actions on this tab:

ClosedUpdate an existing task.

  1. Right-click the task you want to edit, and then select Task assignment.
  2. Edit the task information as needed. The information that you can edit depends on the permissions assigned to you. See Assigning and Updating Tasks to learn more about the Assign Task window.
  3. Click Save.

ClosedDelete a task.

  1. Right-click the task you want to delete, and select Delete Task.
  2. Select Yes to confirm the deletion.

ClosedView the task history.

The task history is included as part of the file history. To view the history, right-click the task, and then select History. Task-related actions are indicated in the Operations and Details columns. See Viewing File History for more information about the History window.

Tip: You can add the Task assignments pane to your Dashboard. If you do so, you can view and work with your tasks without opening Document. For instructions on adding panes to your personal dashboard, see the Customizing Panes topic in the Dashboard Help.
